KPCB have published a report on 2016’s Internet Trends and there is some really fantastic information to be found inside!

We focused on the Instagram related statistics, and we weren’t disappointed.

It would seem that visual platforms are reigning when it comes to millenials, as Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat come out on top in the 18-34 age-group.

Instagram in particular has had some impressive results, showing the platform coming in with around 63% reach among 18-34 year-olds and with approximately 350 monthly minutes spent on the app, per visitor.

This is the equivalent to about 6 hours per month, per user!

And there is even more encouraging news for our favourite social network, as KPCB’s report shows that younger, future generations (Generation Z) communicate better with images than text, as well as being tech-innate and future-focused.

Pinterest is clearly ahead in this section, as 55% of its users call upon the platform for product browsing. Facebook and Instagram are next in line with 12% of users who say they use these networks for finding and shopping for products.
