20 Instagram Tools to Design, Plan, Schedule and Analyze Your Content

Is Instagram taking too much of your time lately? Then it’s time to invest in useful Instagram tools.

While tools won’t solve all your problems and won’t make or break your whole Instagram game (that’s what you need a strategy for), they can definitely help you optimize processes that are already incorporated into your strategy, help you save time and work more effectively. That alone can make a whole difference to how your approach your daily job as a social media manager.

In this post, I’m reviewing 20 brilliant Instagram tools, from Stories design, to feed planning and content scheduling, to analytics. Ready to see what made it to the list? Then read on:

20 Instagram Tools to Design, Plan, Schedule, and Analyze Your Content

Instagram tools for content creation

1. Canva

Canva is a great tool for designing your Instagram posts in a matter of seconds. You can select the format of the content you want, with ‘Instagram Post’ being one of the preset templates. There, you can choose a ready-made design, customize it with your own brand colors, or simply drag and drop your own image into Canva and edit it as you wish.

If you don’t have the skills of a designer to hand, Canva will have you covered.

2. Boomerang

Who doesn’t love a good Boomerang? This helpful Instagram tool, which was actually created by Instagram itself, allows you to capture short videos which loop back and forth when played. All you need to do is choose your subject, press the button, and let Boomerang do all the work. The app shoots a burst of 10 photos and turns them into a fun video that you can share straight away, or save to your camera roll for later.

3. VSCO

VSCO is a great Instagram tool for editing photos and making them look really professional. You can choose from a range of preset filters (you can upgrade to a paid account for access to the full selection), or you can edit your photos by changing the brightness, exposure, clarity, and so on. VSCO is also a community for creators, much like Instagram, where you can share your photos and engage with content from others around the world. So, the tool is perfect for creating high-quality images for Instagram, but it’s also much more than that. Who said you couldn’t be part of both communities?

Whitagram is already a classic app for editing Instagram photos, but if you haven’t heard of it before, you’ve definitely seen photos that have gone through Whitagram first. You know those elegant white borders or backgrounds you’ve seen on those posts popping up in your feed? Yep, that’s done with Whitagram! You can change the size of the border to create a custom look, and you can also edit your photos inside the app as well. One of the most simple but effective Instagram tools!

Developed by Google, Snapseed is an image retouching Instagram tool that lets you transform your photos with loads of great features. You can add effects to your photo to draw attention to certain elements or change the ‘mood’ of the photo, as well as fixing skewed lines and even removing things from the photo that bug you (like that pile of clothes on the floor in your selfie, or, say, that ex who you’d rather forget).

Other features, such as lens blur and double exposure, make Snapseed one of the most comprehensive photo editing apps out there!

6. A Color Story

OK, so I have included quite a few editing apps already, but this list wouldn’t be complete without A Color Story. Rather than offering standard filters, the app allows you to enhance the colors captured in your photo by bringing out bright whites and rich color. You can save your own customisation preferences for use again and again, allowing you to build a uniform Instagram feed full of complimentary images. There are also over 40 cool effects to try out, including flares, fogs and blend mode, to take your images to the next level.

14. Like2Buy

You’ve probably heard about how shoppable content is an Instagram trend to look out for in 2019, and you might have also thought about making the most of it yourself. If you’re an e-commerce business, it makes perfect sense to utilize the opportunity to make your products directly shoppable via your Instagram. Now available in 40+ countries, Instagram shopping is going global.

But what if you’re outside of one of these countries? How do you compete?

That’s where Like2Buy comes in to play: you can still make your feed shoppable with Like2Buy. All you need to do is connect your product feed, feature content and they auto-generate a link in your bio to let your customers shop. According to their website, Like2Buy-referred visitors spend more time browsing on-site, view more pages, and have a greater average order value than the average mobile consumer.

Just select the content you want to promote and select from a variety of ‘cards’ or placements to create your landing page. Although Tap Bio was designed specifically to address Instagram’s bio link problem, and to feel like a native extension of the Instagram experience, you can use it with any social platform.

AdEspresso will even tell you which are your best performing ads based on your campaign goal, which saves you time and effort.
